Intentional Women of the Bible $13.99Why This Study on the Women in Jesus’ Life?
For much of my life, I’ve struggled with my identity as a woman. Years ago, my mother admitted she wished she had taught me more domestic skills—believing that might have helped me find a mate. At the time, she had been influenced by a culture encouraging women to pursue careers over homemaking. But now, she says she simply wishes she had taught me to love Christ, trusting that everything else would fall into place through Him. Though I wasn’t directly raised to have a relationship with Jesus, I was brought up in church, celebrating faith-based traditions, and learning values that laid a foundation for knowing Him. For that, I am grateful—because it led me to Christ. My mother is just one example of how a woman’s relationship with Jesus can profoundly shape another’s life. In this study, I’ll share stories of other women—biblical and personal—who’ve impacted me through their walk with Christ. My prayer is that, through their stories, you’ll discover that God has always had a plan for you, is working it out in your life, and will never leave your side. "I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands." Psalm 63:4
Kris has a unique gift for bringing women from all walks of life together in a way that transcends differences in age, background, and marital status. Over the years, she has led two retreats for the Women’s Ministry of the Cumberland Presbyterial, and from the earliest stages of planning to the final moments of the retreat, her leadership, creativity, and heart for discipleship have been deeply valued and appreciated.
Our group is wonderfully diverse, including women in their 40s through their 80s, as well as those who are married, widowed, divorced, and never married. Yet Kris has an extraordinary ability to connect with each woman personally through her solid biblical teaching, authentic life experiences, and engaging sense of humor.
Kris creates an atmosphere where women feel welcomed, encouraged, challenged, and loved. Her passion for helping women grow in their relationship with Christ is evident in everything she does.
Having Kris as a friend is a priceless gift. Having her serve as a retreat speaker or ministry leader is an even greater blessing.
